1st CASE STUDY

John is a successful senior manager who headed up the U.K. operation of a global company.
Despite having achieved strong growth and excellent R.O.I. John was replaced when his immediate boss left the company and the new CEO wanted his "own man" to take over the UK.
John soon realised that he had been so busy running the company that his own career had been on hold.

John’s first tentative steps into the marketplace consisted of applying for a few jobs and contacting agencies, with little to show for his efforts.

He was fairly demoralised when he came to us, but starting work with a senior consultant he quickly focussed on the right objective, and gained a much clearer idea of where his job search should be going and how to go about it.

A structured marketing campaign enabled him to network very effectively and within weeks he had spoken to a Group M.D. who asked him to look at an under performing subsidiary and to make recommendations. After a short time at the company, john recommended that the company be closed down. The Group M.D. followed John’s advice, but asked John to take over a permanent M.D. role at another larger subsidiary.

Case study 2

Jane, a highly qualified executive who had left a large pharmaceutical company to take up a post in a well-known University. Sadly, the job did not work out and she found herself frustrated with her work and under a lot of pressure from her boss.

Our consultant quickly helped her restore her self-belief, focus on her strengths and use a much more structured marketing approach. She found that there was a great deal of interest in her background and finally decide to take a very good job with a Regional Development Authority. After just three months.

Case study 3

Jim had a good track record as a marketing manager. He wanted to move on from his company where he could see little future and where he was being put under a great deal of pressure by his boss. He also wanted to change industries. He had tried applying for jobs and contacting agencies, but to no avail.

Jim’s consultant talked through and clarified the issues he had at work and formulated a plan that would enable him to change industry.

Within two months and after several interviews, Jim was offered a good post, but not quite at the salary level he was looking for.

Jim was very tempted to take the job because he was facing redundancy as the company decided to move the marketing department to their other office 200 miles away. His consultant counselled otherwise as he was getting a lot of interest from the marketplace. Within weeks, Jim secured a much better role in the industry of his choice and at a far better salary.
